Pitching to Investors Course

Fair valuation is not simply a function of performance. It is shaped by how clearly a company articulates its strategy, priorities and sources of value.

The inaugural Pitching to Investors course, organised by SGListCos (part of the Value Unlock Equip Grant), brought together CEOs, CFOs and IROs to strengthen Investor Relations (IR) as a strategic function.

Facilitated by SGListCos Council Members and IR Fellows, Manfred Seah and Kelvin Chow MBA, FCCA, CA , the session focused on what differentiates effective investor engagement in practice, namely clarity of narrative, consistency in messaging and alignment at the leadership level.

As highlighted during the discussion, “clarity builds credibility. Investors must quickly understand what drives value."

A panel moderated by Chong Lek Foong, with Manfred Seah, Kelvin Chow MBA, FCCA, CA , Grace Chen and Nicholas Teh, reinforced key principles that drive impact in IR. The power of simplicity was emphasised, with a focus on distilling complexity into clear articulation of impact and revenue streams.

Navigating market signals was another key theme, focusing on what can be controlled, while engaging stakeholders authentically and respecting market dynamics.

IR serves as a critical interface between management and the market. Its effectiveness depends on how strongly it is empowered to shape the narrative, ensure consistency and reflect a unified voice across management and the Board.

As Singapore’s capital markets evolve, strengthening IR capabilities remains a key priority under initiatives such as the Value Unlock programme by Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and SGX Group.

SGListCos is a service provider under the Equip Grant for IR training courses, supporting listed companies in strengthening investor engagement and market confidence. More IR training courses are currently in the pipeline.
