SGListCos First Council Meeting: Strengthening Issuer Capabilities and Market Engagement

SGListCos convened its first Council meeting today, bringing together senior leaders from across Singapore's listed company community for a focused and strategic discussion. A central theme was the recent Equities Market Review and the opportunities arising from the S$5 billion EQDP and S$30 million Value Unlock Programme.

Council members discussed how the question is no longer the size of these programmes, but how capital should be deployed effectively, and the important role SGListCos can play in helping to shape priorities that strengthen corporate strategy, capital optimisation and investor engagement across the market.

The Council also had the benefit of updates from SGListCos Pro-tem Chairman, Sutat Chew 周士达, on the two-batch deployment approach for the EQDP, and early thinking around implementation of the Value Unlock grants – highlighting clear areas where SGListCos can contribute industry-led perspectives.

Beyond Value Up, the Council explored several important themes:

  • SGListCos membership, objectives and partnership activities
  • Priority setting for SGListCos' three pillars in 2026
  • Identification of issuer and investor pain points
  • ESG reporting challenges

SGListCos is grateful for the candour, expertise and forward-looking guidance offered by the Council. The association remains focused on championing the interests of listed companies, strengthening Singapore's market competitiveness and supporting issuers in unlocking long-term shareholder value.

Further dialogue will continue as today's discussion is built upon and this collective agenda is advanced with members and partners.
