On 14 January 2025, SGListCos proudly participated in the ISCA Pre-Budget Roundtable 2025, with our Protem Chairman, Mr. Chew Sutat, providing valuable insights on the theme, "Building a Vibrant and Resilient Economy in Uncertain Times." This annual event brought together business and industry leaders to discuss strategies for enhancing economic resilience in a climate of global uncertainty.

Following a solid 4% GDP growth in 2024, Singapore prepares for 2025, navigating a "Trumpian" world characterized by "small gardens and high fences." Locally, the Straits Times Index (STI) has seen a robust 20% rise this year, primarily benefiting large-cap companies. SGListCos continues to advocate for increased support for SMEs to nurture local and global champions, as these enterprises, along with mid and small caps, account for a significant portion of employment in Singapore.

Sustainability was another critical topic of discussion. SGListCos actively promotes sustainable practices among SMEs, supporting calls for government grants, training, and regulatory assistance to help businesses adopt eco-friendly initiatives. We also emphasize the importance of professional volunteerism and the role of professional bodies in fostering social cohesion and supporting the nonprofit sector.
